Born in 1960 in Bolzano, he graduated in flute in 1978 in his hometown Conservatory of Music by Luigi Palmisano and in 2007 he achieved the highest graduation for his Master of Music in Trento Conservatory by Emilio Galante.
He studied with Arrigo Tassinari, Christian Lardè, Irena Grafenauer, Auréle Nicolet, Andreas Blau, Peter Lukas Graf, Davide Formisano and Thies Roorda.
He was among the finalists in competitions for the role of first solo flute and piccolo in many orchestras (Teatro alla Scala, Orchestra Rai di Roma, Opera di Genova, Pomeriggi Musicali Milan) and in 1978 he achieved the role of piccolo and tuttiflute in the Orchestra Sinfonica "Haydn" di Bolzano e Trento, with which he played more than 5000 concerts also playing sometimes as principal flute and soloist with the piccolo.
He played with conductors as Claudio Abbado, Othmar Suitner, Gustav Kuhn, Helmuth Rilling, Neville Marriner, Jeffrey Tate, Yves Abel, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, Claudio Scimone, Alberto Zedda, Daniel Oren. He toured in the principal Italian towns (Roma, Milano, Venezia, Verona, Palermo, Padova, Catania) and abroad (USA, Japan, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Holland), playing in some of the most famous concert halls as Musikverein in Wien, Vigado in Budapest, Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Beethovenhalle in Bonn, the Philharmonic Hall in Hamburg, the Suntory Hall and Bunkamura Theater in Tokyo.
He also played in many videos, audio recordings and live broadcastings.
He has been flute Professor teaching in Music School of South Tyrol and Trento Conservatory of Music.
He plays the low-c A. J. Braun Piccolo and the Nagahara Mini, a new concept instrument.
With this instrument he recorded music specially composed by C. Galante and A. Cavicchi and Mozart Oboe Quartett with Orchestra Haydn and conductor Marco Angius, the CD is distributed by Brilliant Classic. The premiere concert was in Prato in 2016 with Orchestra da Camera di Prato, conductor Christopher Franklin.
